Kherson, a southern Ukrainian city, receives its first passenger train, 8 months after Russians occupied the city.
The first train arrived on Saturday, amidst tears, laughter, and cheers as families reconnected after being victims of the ongoing war.
A video shared by BBC featured crowds chanting ‘glory to Ukraine’ repeatedly while hugging one another.

Russian forces had fanned out from the Crimean peninsula and occupied large areas of Ukraine’s Black Sea coast, including the city of Kherson.
Ukrainian forces liberated Kherson from the Russians on November 11, 2022.
Trains to the city were used to transport fleeing persons and supply fighters to the front line before the Russians cut it off.
The reopening of the train lines will help to provide many amenities the city had been denied for months.
