A popular Nigerian actress, Chioma Akpotha, says thugs with knives and other weapons attacked her at her polling unit,
Chioma shared a video of herself driving out of the area, some where in Lekki, Lagos, to escape the attack.
In the video she looked frightened.
She had arrived at her polling in the morning of March 18 to vote and wanted to create a content to encourage her followers to go out and exercise their franchise.
She was not aware that would be the end of her own attempt to vote in the location.
According to Chioma Akpotha, immediately she brought out her phone, the thugs came to her with weapons.
She says thugs have taken over the polling unit, depriving people the right to cast their vote.
Chioma says vehicle was vandalised.

“I don’t know the extent of the damage to my car and I had to run away,” a frightened Chioma said.
As she drove, her intention was to report the incident to security agents.
“I am going over to where the army is.
“I am tired of these things and I don’t even know what to say.
“What happened to the free and faire election they promised us?
“Nothing is free and fair,” the actress laments, as she drives.
