Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to shun religious affinity in their decision-making ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Speaking in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Thursday while commissioning a bridge, Obi said, “Don’t vote for me because I am Igbo, no church buys bread cheaper.”

He was referring to the economic state of the country, and how every member of every tribe and religion was suffering the harsh conditions.
Obi, referring to the bridge said, “This bridge will be used by Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, those that go to church, those that don’t go to church, and everyone. It is not for only some people.”
Nyesom Wike, the state governor, promised to help Obi during his campaign, and show him around to various local government areas because “you have honoured me,” he said.
