Drambi Vandi, the police officer, who allegedly killed a pregnant lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, has pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge made against him.

Vandi was arraigned on Monday before the Tafawa Balewa Square Division of the Lagos High Court.

According to The Cable, the suspended cop who is facing a one-count charge of unlawful killing pleaded his innocence.

The state counsel, Moyosore Onigbanjo, told the court that the defence counsel received the original copies.

The defence counsel, Adetokunbo Oduntola, told the court that the documents were not clear.

However, Justice Ibironke Harrison said Mr Onigbanjo should send clearer copies to the defence counsel.

Raheem was returning from church with her family on Christmas day in 2022 when the reportedly pregnant lawyer was shot.

The IGP ordered the suspension of Vandi and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu promised that justice would be served for the slain lawyer.
