Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, sent his delegation to visit the family of Lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, who was shot by a police officer on Christmas day.
Raheem had been returning home with her family when she was shot in Lagos.
The delegation of the governor assured the family of the governor’s stand to get justice for the deceased.
The delegates during their visit to the family in their home in Ajah promised that the case would be taken to court as soon as the case file is received from the police.
“We have the permission of Mr. Governor to tell you that justice will be done in this matter. The matter will be charged to court as soon as the police send us the case file. I will be leading the prosecution to show the seriousness the government attaches to this matter,” Commissioned for Justice, Moyo Onigbanjo, SAN, said.
The Special Adviser on Innovation and Technology, Olatubosun Alake, said the governor urged the family to take heart, praying The Almighty consoles the family.
The husband of the deceased, Gbenga Raheem, thanked the governor for his empathy.
