Musician and rights activist, Folarin Falana (Falz) has warned Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Nigeria Police of potential chaos in Lagos if justice is not granted for a slain lawyer, Bolanle Raheem.

Falz, the son of a reputable Nigerian lawyer, Femi Falana, said
the details of the procedure and everyone involved should be made public.

“Another man in police uniform took the life of a pregnant Bolanle Raheem on Christmas Day. If this person isn’t punished and all details published for everyone to see, I am afraid many will interpret that as an invitation to chaos. Humble advice,” he said.

A cop, identified as Drambi Vandi, was apprehended by the police for killing the lawyer, said to be pregnant with twins on Christmas day.

Falz added, “When we refused to leave the streets in October 2020, we were referred to as recalcitrant #EndSars youth that just wanted to make trouble,” adding that “two years after a panel made recommendations regarding those cases, they have still not been implemented.”

Raheem’s murder was not the first by the police in the Ajah area of Lagos.

On December 7, Gafaru Buraimoh was shot dead by another trigger-happy police officer from the Ajiwe police division.

Meanwhile, IGP Usman Baba has recommended the “immediate suspension” of the cop who was fingered for the murder of the Lagos lawyer.
