Some Nigerians on Twitter started trending ‘Black Monday’ to express their displeasure over the inauguration of Bola Tinubu as the country’s president.

Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress was declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission in March.

Tinubu’s declaration as president-elect has been hotly contested, which is one of the reasons his opponents, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, petitioned the Election Tribunal to overturn his victory.
