They splashed out £105 million ($133m) on Declan Rice in the summer of 2023, but feel that further reinforcements are required in the middle of the park.

According to TEAMtalk, that search has led the north London outfit in the direction of Belgium international Onana.

He has previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, with the 22-year-old having proven himself in the Premier League across 18 months at Goodison Park.

Everton splashed out £33m ($42m) on Onana when snapping him up from Lille in 2022 and have seen his stock soar since then.

With that in mind, it is claimed that his asking price has risen above the £70m ($89m) mark and could come in as high as £90m ($114m).

Everton are reluctant sellers, particularly in the middle of a season that has them battling to beat the drop.
