As Nigerians prepare to pick a new leaders at the polls on February 25 and March 11 respectively, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has taken the delivery of sensitive election materials.

In Lagos on Wednesday, INEC took delivery of sensitive materials for Saturday’s presidential and parliamentary poll from the Central Bank of Nigeria in the company of heavily armed police operatives.

The police detachment numbering about 30, arrived at the INEC headquarters office in Lagos to beef up security around the facilities.

The fully armed operatives arrived at the electoral bodys’ office in Lagos at 5:00 PM, with INEC busy loading the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in trucks to the 20 local government areas in Lagos.

The police officers, upon arrival, began chanting various songs to announce their arrival for election duty.
