Ruben Amorim has provided an honest update on Alejandro Garnacho’s future at Manchester United as Napoli continue pursuit of the Argentine winger.
Garnacho has had his future at Manchester United questioned since the Argentine winger was dropped by Red Devils boss Amorim in their Premier League clash against Manchester City alongside Marcus Rashford.
While the 20-year-old has returned to Amorim’s squad unlike the England international, Garnacho’s future at the club remains under the microscope.
Talent
Amorim has now opened up on the Argentine’s future.
Speaking to the media, Amorim said: “That is clear. He has talent.
“He needs to learn to play in a different position.
“Also, he needs to play better inside.
“He improves a lot in the recovering position when he doesn’t have the ball.
“But doing that, sometimes he’s not in the right place to make transitions like he was in the past.
“I prefer to defend and then build up with all the team to reach the final third.
“He’s finding the best way to play in this system.
“He’s improving during training.
“Also, he started the last game. Let’s see tomorrow.
“I think he changed the way he sees himself.”
Garnacho has been linked heavily with Antonio Conte’s Napoli with Calciomercato suggesting that the Serie A side have reached an agreement in principle with Garnacho over a January switch.
However, the Red Devils are said to value their academy graduate at no less than £70 million ($85.5m), a fee Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reluctant to reach this month.

The Argentine winger is said to be open to a move to Napoli for a lower wage compared to what he earns at Manchester United.
However, Amorim’s confidence in him may make Garnacho reconsider the switch this month.
