The Labour Party has asked its elected governor in Abia State, Alex Otti, to be wary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which lost the state in the March governorship election.
The warning is coming ahead of the inauguration of Governor-elect, Alex Otti, on May 29.
According to the Labour Party, the members of the PDP to watch are those in the state House of Assembly.
Challenges And Constraints
The Obedient Ambassadors Forum believes that the recent crisis in the Abia House of Assembly is a foreshadowing of what will happen in the State House of Assembly in the future.
According to a statement issued by its President, Chiezolam Nwankwo, and Secretary, Comrade Kingsley Uko, Otti’s biggest challenge upon taking office will be determining who will be the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
The statement reads: “We have informed the Labour Governor-Elect, Dr Alex Otti, of the Peoples Democratic Party’s activities in order to ensure that the incoming administration will face some challenges and constraints in the dispersal of governance beginning May 29, 2023.
“We are aware that the Governor-Elect is not sleeping to ensure that good governance is put in place to end Abians’ agonies, but he should understand that there are bigger battles ahead.
Opprobrium And Infamy
“He should know that the biggest challenge is who emerges as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly of Abia State House by June 2023.
“What the opprobrium and infamy Rt Hon Chinedum Orji is facing today can be traced back, to the underground and tactical support the embattled Speaker gave to Dr Alex Otti to win the Abia 2023 governorship election against the PDP candidate Okey Ahiwe.
“There is evidence that an unnamed PDP Governor from the South /South zone has rounded up funds to Abia PDP for the impeachment of Rt Hon Chinedum Orji and the election of the new Speaker for Abia House of Assembly by June 2023 as the final battle”.

The group claims massive funds have been set aside to ensure that the sovereignty of the 8th Abia Assembly will keep Otti on his toes.

This will become an impediment to his government’s policies and procedures to have accents and approvals.
“Alex Otti should double his efforts and stop the celebrations of his election victory and focus on the ongoing battles ahead of his emergence.
“We are aware of the reasons for the PDP’s selection of Erondu Jnr Erondu, Obingwa West, or Emmanuel Emeruwa, Aba South.
“Who despite his endless denials, is more PDP than Labour.” The sooner Otti decides who he will support, the better for Abians’ future.
“We are aware of previous meetings in Uyo by PDP members Elect and their Labour moles.We are aware of ongoing consultations to entice the YPP and APC members Elect with tantalising, but mouthwatering offers.
”Obidients groups will not fold our arms and allow Senator Olusola Saraki’s episode of NAAS 2015 to play out in Abia by June 2023.
“The warning signals are too obvious for the blind to see, Dr Alex Otti beware of the the PDP Jokers, Emmanuel Emeruwa and Erondu Jnr Erondu.”
