The scarcity of premium motor spirit has again resurfaced in Lagos and queues are getting longer by the hour.

As Lagosians are trying to survive in the face of the ongoing protest declared by commercial bus drivers in Lagos state over illegal fees and unnecessary extortion faced in the hands of agberos, car owner’s woes have been worsened with the fuel scarcity currently being experienced in the state.

Again Fuel Scarcity Surfaces In Lagos

 

Recall that between Monday and Wednesday last week, Lagosians found it hard to purchase fuel at the filling stations, the problem was hinged on the delay of supply of the product due to the flood disaster which took over roads where fuel tankers would ply to go and supply fuel.

The cause of this recent fuel scarcity is yet to be ascertained but one thing is sure, Lagosians will feel the effect on their pockets.

Meanwhile as fuel scarcity has resurfaced, black marketers have also resurfaced with their 25 litres and 50 litres gerry can of fuel placed along the road and right beside the filling stations.

Private car owners, company’s whose generating set run on fuel and the protesting commercial bus drivers will now have to hustle for fuel in order to be able to go about their businesses.

Some will waste useful time at the filling stations queuing up to get served while others will not get served irrespective of how long they wait.

On the long run the poor masses will be the ones to bear the burnt of the whole situation.
