Funke Akindele suffers a political defeat. and the popular actress also refereed to as Jenifa is purging her pages of all posts that are political.

The actress was the running mate of the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos state, Abdulazeez Adediran.
In Saturday’s election, Akindele and her principal, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, aka Jandor, were defeated by incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Reacting to her loss, she took to her Instagram page to delete all political-related posts.
On Monday, March 20, 2023, it was discovered that the posts visible on her page of 15.7 million followers were primarily those of her movie promotion and other personal posts.

She has not stated her reason for deleting the contents. However it will not be unconnected with her loss in the race.
Prior to this time, people have expressed concerns about her push for the position.
She was not so visible in the heat of the political activities ahead of the election.
People were really wondering if she was part of the race at all.
Funke has not mentioned whether they will challenge the victory of Sanwo-Olu in the governorship election.
