Veteran actor and politician Bob-Manuel Udokwu has explained why he stays away from social media, choosing to observe from a distance instead of engaging in online arguments and distractions.
Social Media Fatigue
He shared his thoughts on Instagram and said social media in Nigeria has changed in ways that drain energy and attention.
As a result, he finds active participation exhausting due to the constant flow of heated opinions.
Furthermore, Udokwu said many trending topics do not reflect the real challenges people face in their daily lives.
Instead, these discussions dominate timelines and consume people’s time and data without adding real value.

In addition, he highlighted online trolling and insults as a key reason for his quiet presence.
He explained that the space often lacks respect and meaningful conversation, which pushes him to step back and simply observe rather than engage.
However, despite his distance from online debates, he revealed that he will now begin to post and interact more with fans.
This shift comes after repeated requests from followers who want more engagement from him online.
Bob-Manuel Return To Engagement
Finally, he described social media in Nigeria as overwhelming, where less relevant topics go viral while serious issues get ignored.
Still, he maintained that his earlier decision to stay silent helped him protect his peace of mind, even as he prepares to reconnect more actively with his audience.
