Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Guinea-Bissau all qualified for the Afcon in Cameroon in 2021, but they were all assigned to Group A alongside Sao Tome and Principe.

Only two of these sides may qualify for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, with the Super Eagles favored to win the tournament and make their 20th participation.

The three-time African champions will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak when they face the Leone Stars on home grounds.
