The popular ghetto slang “wetin you de find for ‘Sokoto’ e de here for ‘Shokoto’” may be true after all.
You see, for weeks now, President Bola Tinubu has been under heavy pressure due to the ongoing nationwide protest.
Talks of this protest began to build up some months ago, and trust Nigerian politicians, protest is their nightmare.
Well, according to the Federal Government, it was to avoid the breakdown of law.
There is nothing the government did not do to stop the #EndBadGovernanceProtest from happening.
The government made strong efforts to stop the #EndBadGovernanceProtest from happening.
But trust Nigerians, their mind was made up, and there was no going back.
As Nigerians commenced the #EndBadGovernanceProtest in high spirits, the Commodity Price International (CPI), has drawn the attention of the government to very simple ways of ending the ongoing protest.
These 5 highlighted tips, according to CPI will not only end the protest, but it will bring an end to the hunger and hardship rocking the country.
These tricks were detailed in a statement by CPI on August 1, 2024.
1. Privatise All Government Refineries
According to CPI, the government should announce a new date for a new and cheaper PMS and diesel price.
They suggested that working closely with Dangote and privatizing all government refineries is all that indeed to achieve this.
2. War Against Hunger
Indeed this protest is not called ‘hunger protest’ for nothing.
Nigerians seem to be very hungry, and as we all know, a hungry man is an angry man.
Now, the CPI has recommended that the government should set up a commodity board.
This board will buy all staple foods from farmers and sell them to Nigerians at a unified price.
According to them, this model should later spread to other foods.
This, to them, will help keep food inflation down to the nearest minimum.
3. Transportation
CPI advised the government to cost transportation cost at the grassroots level by “flooding the nation with CNG buses and electric tricycles.
4. Privatise Tourism
CPI also advised the government to privatise all the over 70 federal tourism sites to allow forex inflow in the country.
