The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed a viral result slip claiming that a candidate from Cross River State scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), describing it as fabricated.
The document, which circulated widely on social media, alleged that a female candidate named Okon Winniefred Sampson achieved an almost perfect score across four subjects.
The claim quickly drew public attention and sparked reactions online.
However, JAMB, through its spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, clarified on Sunday that the result is not authentic and should be disregarded.
He noted that the layout and structure of the circulating slip do not align with the board’s official result format.
Benjamin further explained that UTME results are not issued as printable documents for public sharing.
Instead, candidates are required to access their scores through designated official platforms provided by the board.
He also highlighted inconsistencies in the registration number displayed on the slip, stating that it does not conform to JAMB’s standard numbering system.
According to him, this and other noticeable errors clearly indicate that the result was falsified.
JAMB cautioned the public against spreading unverified information, stressing that such misinformation can mislead and create unnecessary confusion.

The board reiterated that authentic UTME results can only be obtained through its approved channels and not through downloadable or widely circulated slips.
