Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has unveiled a detailed timetable for its activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates and financial requirements for aspirants seeking various offices.
The schedule, endorsed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, provides a roadmap for the nomination process, including the sale of forms, screening procedures, appeals, and primary elections.
According to the timetable, the cost of contesting under the APC banner remains notably high.
Presidential hopefuls are expected to pay ₦100 million for nomination forms, while governorship aspirants will part with ₦50 million.
Those eyeing Senate seats must pay ₦20 million, House of Representatives aspirants ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly candidates ₦6 million.
Democratic Standards
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness throughout the process.
The party assured members and the general public that it intends to conduct primaries that reflect credible democratic standards and strengthen internal cohesion.
The sale of nomination and expression of interest forms is scheduled to commence on April 25, 2026, and will close on May 2, 2026.
Following this, screening exercises for aspirants vying for State Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and governorship positions will take place from May 6 to May 8.

Presidential aspirants will undergo their screening on May 9, while the party’s presidential primary election is set to hold over two days, from May 15 to May 16.
The timetable signals the APC’s early preparations for the 2027 elections, setting the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive internal selection process.
