Ademola Lookman has said he is fully focused on helping Nigeria win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) currently taking place in Morocco.

The Atalanta star, who is enjoying one of his best tournaments so far, is expected to play a major role when Nigeria face host nation Morocco in Wednesday’s semi-final match at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Earlier in the tournament, Algeria tried to stop Lookman by closely marking him throughout the game.
Despite this, the Super Eagles found other ways to score, with goals coming from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams, showing the team’s attacking depth.
Adedamola Lookman, who has already scored three goals in the competition, said his attention is on the present and on doing everything possible to help Nigeria lift the trophy.
“I’m always focused on the present. Right now, the present is being here in Morocco for AFCON and trying to help my country win the tournament,” he said.
Nigeria have been the most attacking team in the tournament so far, scoring 14 goals in five matches, conceding four goals and keeping two clean sheets.
The Super Eagles’ strong attack has been led by Osimhen, Lookman and Alex Iwobi, with support from Akor Adams.
The team has also benefited from the experience and leadership of Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
Under head coach Eric Chelle, Nigeria will be looking to continue their fine form as they push for a place in the AFCON 2025 final.
