Apapa Customs Record-Breaking Revenue

The command had generated ₦2.36 trillion in 2024, already showing a ₦573 billion increase.

“Clearly, disciplined personnel and smart technology can achieve remarkable progress,” Oshoba said.

Strong Enforcement Actions

Moreover, Apapa Customs intercepted 53 containers carrying drugs and prohibited goods, valued at ₦12.63 billion.

These seizures included cocaine, Canadian Loud, tramadol, and expired medicines, which NDLEA and NAFDAC investigated further.

Additionally, the Unified Customs Management System, B’Odogwu, improved transparency, efficiency, and accountability in cargo clearance.

Trade facilitation also improved through the Authorised Economic Operator programme and the One-Stop Shop framework.

As a result, compliant cargo moved faster, and port operations became smoother.

Oshoba revealed that the command will deploy the FS6000 cargo scanner, capable of scanning 200 containers per hour.

The system will strengthen enforcement while increasing efficiency at Apapa Port.

Collaboration And Future Plans

Furthermore, he praised importers, agents, and port operators for cooperating with lawful trade practices.

The command will continue engaging stakeholders to ensure smooth, transparent, and compliant trade operations.

Looking ahead, Oshoba expressed optimism for 2026, expecting full B’Odogwu rollout and intelligence-led enforcement to drive results.

Enhanced inter-agency collaboration will further improve compliance and revenue performance next year.

Notably, in October 2025, Apapa Customs collected ₦304 billion, the highest monthly revenue ever recorded nationally.

By combining technology, strategy, and stakeholder cooperation, Apapa Customs set a new benchmark in port management.

Ultimately, its 2025 performance proves that disciplined leadership and modern systems can transform Nigeria’s port operations.
