Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been named the FIFA Men’s Best Goalkeeper for 2025.

The Italy international, who joined Manchester City during the summer transfer window, was recognised for an outstanding year.
In which he won the UEFA Champions League for the first time alongside three domestic trophies with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain.
Donnarumma emerged top ahead of strong competition from Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer, Arsenal’s David Raya, Inter Milan’s Yann Sommer, and Barcelona’s Wojciech Szczesny.
Reacting to the honour, the City number one expressed pride at being recognised among some of the world’s finest goalkeepers.
Donnarumma described the year as unforgettable and said the award meant a great deal to him, adding that he is now focused on achieving more success with Manchester City.
The nominees were selected by a panel of experts, while the final winner was chosen through votes from an international jury made up of men’s national team coaches, national team captains, football journalists, and fans who voted on FIFA’s official website.
