The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a strong warning to celebrities and social media influencers over the growing trend of reckless and distracted driving in pursuit of online attention.

The warning follows a recent road crash involving popular content creator Peller, who was reportedly live-streaming while driving at the time of the incident.
In response, the FRSC has ordered the immediate prosecution of those found guilty of distracted and reckless driving, stressing that such actions pose serious risks to lives on Nigerian roads.
Speaking on the matter, the Corps Marshal firmly stated that public roads are not studios and should never be treated as platforms for content creation.
He emphasised that no form of online engagement, popularity, or social media clout justifies endangering lives.
The FRSC also called on actors’ guilds, influencer associations, and content creator networks to urgently rein in their members and promote responsible behaviour, particularly when it comes to road safety.
Reiterating its zero-tolerance stance, the Corps Marshal warned that the FRSC will apply the full weight of the law against anyone who violates traffic regulations, regardless of their social status or online following.
According to him, no amount of fame is worth the loss of human life.
The agency urged motorists to remain focused, obey traffic laws, and prioritize safety at all times, noting that responsible driving is a shared duty that protects everyone on the road.
