Nigerian singer Simi has earned her first international certification.
Her hit single Duduke was recently certified Gold in New Zealand for selling 15,000 units.
Released in 2022, the song celebrates the beat of Simi’s heart for her unborn child, with the music video showcasing her baby bump.
Fans also joined the Duduke Challenge, creating their own versions of the song.
Simi shared that some people have been calling her daughter, Adejare, “Duduke.”
While not offensive, she prefers her child to be called by her real name.
