Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has penned a heartfelt open letter to commemorate his 25th anniversary in the music industry.

He expresses deep gratitude to everyone who has contributed to his iconic journey.

In the emotional message titled “Open Letter of Gratitude: 2Baba @ 25 Years in the Industry,” the African Queen crooner reflected on his rise from humble beginnings to becoming one of Africa’s most celebrated music legends.

As I stand on the threshold of 25 years in this incredible journey called music, my heart is full of gratitude, memories, lessons, and love. This celebration is not mine alone. It belongs to everyone who played a role in shaping the story of Innocent Idibia, 2Baba,” he wrote.

2Baba went on to acknowledge key figures who shaped his career, including Nelson Brown, who discovered the Plantashun Boiz trio, 2Baba, Faze, and Blackface.

Also, he credited Brown for “seeing light in the dream of three young men when no one else believed.”

The music legend also expressed profound appreciation to Baba Keke (Kenny Ogungbe) and D1 (Dayo Adeneye) for being instrumental in opening industry doors that changed his life forever.

You opened doors that led us from dreams to destiny. We made history together. You stood as mentors and big brothers, and your names will forever be etched in my story,” he said.

2Baba further praised Eddie Lawani for providing a platform for Plantashun Boiz during their early days and DJ Jimmy Jatt for his unwavering loyalty and encouragement throughout his career.

The award-winning singer emphasised that the 25-year milestone isn’t just a personal victory but a celebration of everyone who contributed to the growth of Nigerian music and its global recognition.

Without the people who believed, corrected, and supported me, my story would have been incomplete,” he added.
