Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, has made history by becoming the first Nigerian player to score 10 goals in the UEFA Champions League.

The 26-year-old forward achieved the milestone on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, after netting the decisive penalty in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at the RAMS Park.
Victor Osimhen calmly converted from the spot, sending goalkeeper Alisson Becker the wrong way, following a foul by Dominic Sobozlai on Barış Alper Yılmaz.
With the goal, Osimhen surpassed Obafemi Martins to become Nigeria’s all-time top scorer in the Champions League, excluding qualification rounds.
The strike also cemented his place in history as the first Nigerian to score in the competition for three different clubs Lille, Napoli, and now Galatasaray.
