Apple is set to roll out iOS 26 on Monday, September 15, 2025, bringing a major redesign and a host of new features to iPhone users worldwide.
The update introduces a fresh look, smarter tools powered by Apple Intelligence, and several app enhancements, but it also marks the end of support for some older iPhones.

New Features
One of the biggest highlights of iOS 26 is the “Liquid Glass” design, which gives the interface a more translucent, layered look with depth and motion effects.
Core apps like Phone, Messages, and CarPlay are receiving major upgrades.
The Phone app adds Call Screening, allowing unknown callers to identify themselves before you pick up, and Hold Assist, which keeps your phone on hold until a representative joins the line.
Messages now supports polls in group chats, custom chat backgrounds, and a clearer view of who is typing in real time.
Apple is also expanding its Apple Intelligence features, including smarter live translations across Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, plus adaptive suggestions system-wide.
However, many of these AI tools will be limited to the newest iPhones.
Other improvements include a smarter Adaptive Power Mode to extend battery life, expanded CarPlay widgets and controls, a new Apple Games app to manage gaming content, and stronger privacy protections in Safari and browsing.
Supported Devices
iOS 26 will be available for:
iPhone 11, 11 Pro – iPhone SE (2nd generation and later)
Dropped Devices
With this update, Apple is ending support for:
iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max
These models will no longer receive new iOS versions, though security updates may continue for a limited time.
