Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has dismissed claims by activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) that she betrayed him while handling her sister’s case.
Speaking during an Instagram live session on Thursday, Phyna expressed shock at the accusation, insisting she had been in constant communication with VDM.

“I don’t understand the betrayal talk because I’ve been calling and messaging him every day, giving him updates. He didn’t answer, he didn’t pick my calls. Yet I’m seeing this video. The problem at hand is not distraction; it is how I’m going to get justice for my sister,” she explained.
She noted that she had consistently informed VDM about her movements and was ready to share their chat history to prove she carried him along.
“The lady begged me to plead with that man, and I told VDM. He said okay, that I should be careful. When I got there, I told him. When I left, I also told him. I even have the messages. If needed, I’ll upload all these chats,” she added.
The reality star stressed that while she respects VDM, she wished he had reached out privately instead of going public.
“I personally like VeryDarkMan, but should I kill myself? Please, I beg bro. If I offended you, I’m really sorry from the bottom of my heart. I need you in this case, and you know this. But as much as it hurts, I stand,” she said.
She emphasised that her priority remains securing justice for her sister, adding that VDM’s approach “is not clear.”
