The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has directed all Nigerian public universities to conclude their 2025 admission processes by Friday, October 31, 2025.

JAMB Announces 2025 Admission Deadline

According to the board’s schedule, private universities are expected to complete admissions by November 30, 2025, while all other tertiary institutions, both public and private, must finalise their admission exercises by December 31, 2025.

The directive was announced in JAMB’s weekly bulletin released on Monday, August 18, 2025, and aligns with decisions taken during the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education.

JAMB explained that the timeline is designed to stabilise the academic calendar, ensure fair access to admission slots, and prevent unnecessary delays in the nation’s tertiary education system.

“Public universities are to complete admissions by 31st October 2025, private universities by 30th November 2025, and all other institutions, public and private, must complete admissions by 31st December 2025,” the board stated.

The examination body also urged institutions to conclude admissions ahead of schedule, even if their academic calendar has not officially commenced, stressing that all admissions must be conducted and archived in compliance with the new directive.

In addition, institutions conducting post-UTME screenings were advised to fast-track the process in order to meet the set timeline.
