The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Lagos state Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu have been promised 2 million votes during the general elections by the Asiwaju Grassroot Talk (AGT).
The seminar which was organised by the Asiwaju Grassroot Talk (AGT) had the theme: “Political Evangelism: Raising Active Voters Above 50%” and was held at 10 Degree Events Centre, Oregun, on Thursday.
Attending the event was the Governor of Lagos Mr Babajide Sawo-Olu as the special guest of honor, also in attendance was the Deputy Governor, Mr Obafemi Hamzat, the APC State Chairman in Lagos, Cornelius Ojelabi, members of the state house of assembly, artisans, student, lecturers among others.
The Group under the leadership of Dr Hakeem Adetugbobo, said the group have developed a framework that will help deliver 2 million votes to the candidates of the APC in Lagos.
Adetugbobo, told all the attendees that it is their job to ensure that Tinubu/Sanwo-Olu emerges at the polls in Lagos. He said the governor has done a lot in the state an the only wise thing to do is to let him finish all the noble projects he has started.
The governor while thanking his faithful supporters stated that voting for him is good but ensuring that Tinubu emerges a president is the ultimate goal. According to the governor, most of the people who have served in elected capacity and on appointment basis have benefited from Tinubu and this is the time to pay back.
Sawo-Olu who was visibly elated by the large turnout of the crowd expressed his appreciation to the organisers while noting that the event was organised behind him as a surprise and such surprises makes one happy.
He however appealed to all participants to get their PVC’s and use it during the election.
Furthermore he urged traders, artisans and most importantly the women to please help spread the gospel not just to everybody but particularly to those who have their PVC’s and are ready to use it.
The AGT group further promised to go into the nooks and cranies of Lagos state to galvanise votes for the party and their candidates.
