The days of wait may soon be over for Nigerians, as they are getting nearer to when they will begin to get more petrol from Dangote Refinery.
It has been so much back-and-forth since Aliko Dangote announced that patrol was ready. Nigerians have been kept waiting.
Interestingly, this article shares how near Nigerians are to getting Dangote petrol more frequently.
You see, IPMAN has signed to supply 60 million litres of petrol weekly, streamlining Nigeria’s fuel distribution and eliminating middlemen.
For this to happen, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) formed a groundbreaking partnership. This partnership will transform fuel distribution in Nigeria.
In particular, the agreement, expected to begin in the coming weeks, will allow Dangote Refinery to supply IPMAN with 60 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), or petrol, weekly—equating to 240 million litres monthly.
According to IPMAN’s National Publicity Secretary, Chinedu Ukadike, the deal enables IPMAN members to lift petrol directly from Dangote’s refinery, bypassing middlemen.
As a result, this move is part of Dangote’s broader strategy to improve fuel distribution across Nigeria and reduce the country’s reliance on imported fuel.

“We’re going to off-take millions of litres,” Ukadike said.
In addition, he says; “Dangote has offered us over 60 million litres, depending on our demand”.
Furthermore, he added that they would begin operations before the end of November, as they process the final documentation.
Moreover, the direct supply agreement includes the creation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to manage the off-taking of products, streamlining the process and ensuring guaranteed transactions.
Thus, this effectively eliminates the previous system where individual marketers purchased smaller quantities of petrol.
Ultimately, Dangote’s operation, as Nigeria’s largest refinery, is poised to reduce fuel imports, stabilise supply, and potentially lower costs, benefiting consumers.
Given that the deal comes amid increased competition in the deregulated fuel market, IPMAN is confident that the new arrangement will help address ongoing fuel distribution challenges across Nigeria.
