President Bola Tinubu has commended the Super Falcons of Nigeria for their performance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
European champions England defeated nine-time Africa Cup of Nations’ winners, Nigeria, on penalties for a place in the quarter-finals of the ongoing tournament.
The Super Falcons held the European champions to a goalless draw for 120 minutes until the Nigerian team lost to the English side 4-2 on penalties.
Brilliant Performance
In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Monday, President Tinubu commended the team for their effort despite crashing out of the Women’s World Cup.
The Nigerian leader said the brilliant performance of the team did not go unnoticed despite the final outcome, adding that the players have made Nigeria proud on the global stage.
