President Bola Tinubu has recalled the good old days as Nigerian playwright, and Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka celebrates his 89th birthday.

Soyinka’s birth anniversary is on Thursday, July 13.

In a statement, President Tinubu recounted how he, Soyinka and some other persons fought together for democracy under the aegis of NADECO at great risk to their personal lives.

The Nigerian leader described Soyinka as a veritable source of support, inspiration, and encouragement.

Tinubu referenced the Nobel laureate as his brother and comrade in the struggle to restore and entrench democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

“Today, I celebrate Nobel Laureate, elder statesman, and pro-democracy activist, Prof. Wole Soyinka, on his attainment of 89.
