Social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has formally filed a petition against Alex Ikwechegh.
Alex Ikwechegh is a Federal House of Representatives member from Abia State.
This follows a viral video that captured Alex Ikwechegh in an altercation with a cab driver.
In the footage, the lawmaker is seen threatening the driver.
Ikwechegh threatened to “beat him up” and lock him in a generator house.
The altercation escalated, when the lawmaker slapped the driver while issuing threats to “make him disappear.”
In response to the incident, VeryDarkMan in his petition accused Ikwechegh of serious offenses.
This includes abuse of power, assault, attempted murder, and issuing threats to life.
The document was signed by Otse’s legal representative and activist, Deji Adeyanju, underscoring the gravity of the allegations.
The victim, identified as Stephen Abuwatseya, a bolt driver, shared his side of the story in an interview with VeryDarkMan on Monday.
Abuwatseya recounted the ordeal he endured.
Also, he described the experience as traumatic.
This highlights the fear and intimidation he felt during the encounter with the influential lawmaker.
