While many were uploading updates from just their polling units. Others were posting updates from all 28 states.

One of such persons is Twitter influencer Chude Nnamdi who was arrested in Anambra state.

Chude was reportedly arrested because of a tweet he posted on electoral violence in Anambra state during Saturday’s election.

He was reportedly arrested in Anambra state and has allegedly been taken to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Why Chude Was Arrested

Initially, social media users alleged that Chude was arrested based on a petition written by Charles Soludo, Anambra governor.

His arrest came after he put out a tweet condemning electoral violence in Anambra State during elections on Saturday.

Governor Soludo, however, denied his involvement, saying the state government gave no such directive.

A few days after his arrest, the police confirmed that he was arrested for cyberstalking after a petition was filed against him for his social media posts.

His Release

His arrest triggered much talk on Twitter, with people requesting that he should be released.

Now, the Twitter influencer has been released after spending six days in the custody of the Nigeria Police Force.

Convener of the Revolution Now, Omoyele Sowore, in a tweet confirmed his release on Friday, noting that his team had visited the Force Headquarters in search of the Nnamdi earlier on Friday.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi had earlier called for the release of the influencer.
