Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has issued a light-hearted appeal to Yoruba and Ghanaian social media users, urging them to conduct their online disputes in English.
The actress made her plea via her Instagram story, highlighting the need for inclusivity on social media platforms.
In her post, Tonto Dikeh humorously explained that non-Yoruba speakers are often left in the dark during online arguments conducted in Yoruba.
“Dear Yoruba people, please, when you’re trying to fight (especially on this Obasanjo app), kindly fight in English. How do we know who’s winning the fight?” she wrote.
The actress also called out Ghanaians, stating they are equally guilty of the practice. “Ghana people, you’re part of this WhatsApp group too. Please fight in English,” she added, signing off as a “vawulence prefect.”
Tonto Dikeh, known for her engaging and often entertaining social media presence, frequently shares her thoughts on trending issues.
In December, she raised awareness about a new scam method targeting unsuspecting individuals in public spaces.
According to her, scammers stage emotional outbursts, accusing their targets of fake transfers to create public tension, pressuring the victims to pay or face potential mob action.
The actress advised her followers to remain cautious, stating, “Stay vigilant and stay safe because outside is wild.”
