Many Nigerians would have however, giving up hope that any of the moribund refineries in the country would ever come alive again.

Yet, you cannot blame them for losing faith. They have been lied to by successive governments, following the same path of promise without commitment.
Again, the Tinubu administration is making the same promise.
But only God know if this time it is just an effort to appease the work force of the country.
The Federal Government, in a way of reassuring the workforce that it will make their life better, has promised to rehabilitate the refineries.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, made this known while reading the agreements reached by the FG and representatives of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) on Monday night.
Gbajabiamila, said: “The Federal Government would review and establish a framework for completion of the rehabilitation of the nation’s refineries.”
President Tinubu, had intimated the members of the governors forum, of his plan to rehabilitate the moribund refineries one after another
If the President is able to achieve this feat, it means Nigeria’s economy will grow at an alarming rate and inflation will quickly become a thing of the past.
Also, petrol scarcity that has been a major problem of commercial transporters and commuters alike will become history.

Indeed, subsidy removal may be a blessing in disguise, as it may trigger the Nigerian government to see a good reason it should rehabilitate the refineries.
