Tinubu To Fly To New York For 78Th UN General Assembly

President Bola Tinubu is preparing to participate in the United Nations General Assembly meeting in the coming days, as he continues his diplomatic tour around the world since he assumed office.

President Bola Tinubu will travel to New York on Sunday. He will participate in the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, and it will be his first as Nigeria’s president.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

According to Mr Ngelale, the theme of the UNGA is: “Rebuilding trust and Reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all”.

The statement read: “On September 19, the first day of the High-Level General Debate of the 78th UNGA Session, President Tinubu will deliver his inaugural National Statement.

“Before engaging in the General Debate, the President will join other world leaders to participate in the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (UN 2023 Summit on SDGs).

“Tinubu’s address will encompass several issues, such as sustainable development, climate change, global cooperation, and the imperative to address inequalities and global humanitarian crises”.

Tinubu will be accompanied by Governors Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State; Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.

Others in the entourage are Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State; AbdulRahman AbdulRazak of Kwara State; and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and others.
