The National Assembly Service (NASC) has approved the appointment of Sani Magaji Tambuwal, as Acting Clerk of the National Assembly.

This appointment is following the statutory retirement of the former clerk, Amos Olatunde Ojo.

Executive Chairman of NASC, Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi announced the appointment on Friday.

The chairman stated that Tambuwal would remain an acting clerk until Amos Ojo’s official retirement in Feburary 2023.

He said, “The Commission further resolved that the outgoing Clerk to the National Assembly, Amos Ojo continues to work with the acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Tambuwal, until his retirement date of 14th February 2023 to ensure the success of the ongoing 2023 Appropriation Bill’s processing that should be transmitted by only the substantive Clerk to the National Assembly accordance with the provisions of the Authentication Act.”

Before his appointment, Tambuwal was the Secretary of Finance and Accounts of the National Assembly.

The chairman also announced the appointment into other key offices including the Acting Deputy Clerk, Acting Secretary of Human Resources, and Acting Secretary of Research and Information among others.
