The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has congratulated Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka on the occasion of his 89th birthday.
In a statement on Thursday, Obi said Soyinka remained a revered and renowned figure, held in very high esteem by Nigerians and others all over the world.
The former Governor of Anambra State described the literary icon as his “respected father”, and joined his family, friends and admirers in celebrating his birthday.

“We thank God for the gift of your life in good health. As a person and literary icon, you have remained a revered and renowned figure, held in very high esteem by your compatriots and others all over the world.
