Arne Slot was doubtful about defenders Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley after the two suffered injuries in Liverpool’s win against Real Madrid.
Full-back Bradley was taken off late in his side’s 2-0 Champions League win on Wednesday after picking up a knock, while Konate was spotted limping as the match ended.
With a headline clash against Premier League title rivals Manchester City coming up on Sunday, the condition of Konate and Bradley is a big concern for the Reds.
While Slot did not rule either out for the weekend’s game, he did not sound optimistic when he addressed the media.
“They are still being assessed so it is difficult to know where they are,” Slot said at a press conference.
“Let’s wait and see but it’s never a good sign if players – Conor I had to take him off and Ibou didn’t walk off the pitch as he should after such a fantastic game.
“He should have made a round and clapped to the fans but unfortunately he couldn’t so that’s not a good sign.
“They are still being assessed.
“It’s so close after the game and I just came off the training pitch, so I can’t tell you where they are.”

Slot has the option to start with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back against City, having confirmed that he is fit to play on Sunday.
The England international returned to the bench for the win against Madrid after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Slot’s team are already eight points clear of reigning English champions City and can stretch that lead further with a win against Pep Guardiola’s side, who have lost five and drawn one of their last six matches.
