Seyi Vibez, one of Nigeria’s most prominent artists since his mainstream breakthrough in 2022, has reportedly parted ways with his label, Dapper Music.
The split became apparent when the singer deleted all his Instagram posts and removed the label’s name from his bio, replacing it with “Independent” indicating his new status as a non-affiliated artiste.
This alleged separation has sparked rumours of a possible rift between Seyi Vibez and Dapper Music, the label that played a key role in his rise to fame following the release of his hit single Chance in 2022.
Both Seyi Vibez and Dapper Music have achieved significant success over the past two years.
The artiste won the 2023 Headies Award for Best Street Hop, while Dapper Music’s CEO, Damilola Akinwunmi, was recognised as TurnTable Chart’s Executive of the Year for 2023, highlighting the label’s influence on Nigeria’s street music scene.
In 2024, Seyi Vibez continued to make waves with the release of his EP Loseyi Professor, his sixth solo project since November 2022, further cementing his position in the Nigerian music industry.
Earlier this year, Seyi Vibez launched his own label, Vibez INC, and introduced a roster of new artistes.
