Annie Okonkwo, a former lawmaker who represented Anambra Central Senatorial District, is dead.
He served as a representative for the district from 2007 to 2011, representing the Peoples Democratic Party.
During his time in politics, he also ran for the governorship of Anambra State multiple times.
According to a family member, he died in the United States, where he had been receiving medical treatment.
Annie had previously battled lung cancer and had successfully recovered.
However, in April, the cancer returned, and he required life support until his passing.
