Guidelines on the cash deposit programme of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been released for Nigerians to deposit their old naira notes.
Basically, deposits will only happen at the different branches of the CBN nationwide.
The CBN announced that the cash deposit programme exercise would take place between February 15 and 17.
Here are some of the guidelines as spelt out by the CBN.

- Customers are expected to fill an online application form and generate a reference number before approaching the CBN.
- Customers who fail to carry out the information above will be required to do so at the bank.
- Cash deposit window lasts between February 15 and 17.
- Cash deposit must be done by owner and not a third party.
- Bank Verification Number (BVN) must be provided for the transaction.
- An active bank account must be provided for the transaction to be honoured (e.g. zenith bank, Access bank, GT bank).
- Valid identification must also be provided (e.g. NIN, Drivers license, Int’l passport etc)
