Some residents of Plateau state are asking why Kashim Shettima has suddenly made Jos his favourite town in Nigeria since he became the Vice President-elect.
Is there something he is looking for?
That remains unknown at the moment, however, let us bring you up to beat with the latest move by Nigeria’s Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima.
A group is accusing him of secretly visiting Jos, the Plateau State capital, just after the presidential election.
The Middle Belt Youth Forum (MBYF), while expressing disdain and contempt, says Shettima held a series of meetings in Jos.
The group is alleging that the meeting was with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Also, they claim the agenda of the meeting is: ‘Rigging Saturday’s governorship election in favour of APC’.
APC’s Desperation
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the Acting National Coordinator of the MBYF, Captain Brent Kane, said the forum would resist any plot to rig the election.
Showing his alleged disdain for Plateau people, Kane says Shettima, upon arrival in Jos, went straight to visit Izala Islamic Cleric in the state, Sheikh Yahaya Jingir.
“Without paying any respect to the Gbong Gwom Jos, who is the chairman of the state Traditional Council.”
“This insult and denigration of our traditional institution reveals the desperation of the APC to isolate the indigenous people of Plateau from the political scheme of Nigeria and enthrone strangers as leaders over our people, which will never see the light of day.
