August 25 is a sad day for the Nigerian Army, as the bodies of 22 soldiers who lost their lives when a helicopter crashed in Niger State are laid to rest.
The soldiers died during an evacuation mission on August 14, 2023.
The ill-fated aircraft had departed Zungeru Primary School en route Kaduna State but was later discovered to have crashed near Chukuba Village in Niger state.
The bodies of the slain soldiers were buried at the military cemetery in Abuja.
The Burial
The funeral ceremony was attended by the wives of the deceased soldiers, family members as well as government functionaries.

This government functionaries were led by the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru and his counterpart for State, Bello Matawalle as well as the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.
