So, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) at the last general election has advised the federal government.
As Nigeria continues to struggle with naira devaluation and scarcity of dollars.
The flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP) during the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, has stated that agriculture remains critical to Nigeria’s economic development.
He made this during his visit to Mary Agro Farms in Udi Area of Enugu State.

Obi who has refused to join Tinubu’s government may continue to give advice for the progress of the nation seeing how bad the economy has become.
The LP’s presidential candidate during his visit to the farm a few days ago, had donated N10m to support their innovative agricultural productivity.
Obi, who was impressed by the progress recorded on the farm after starting just two years ago, encouraged them with little support.
The politician calls on Nigerians to go into agriculture, insisting it remains critical to the country’s economic development.
Furthermore, he advised the federal government to implement friendly policies that encourage farmers and farming.
According to him, agriculture has the capacity to bring Nigeria out of this problem where it currently is.
“I have consistently maintained that agriculture remains critical to our economic development. It is the biggest asset our nation has, including the vast uncultivated lands,” Obi said.
“If we properly harness our huge human and natural resources, in terms of agriculture, it will solve many challenges facing the nation.”
“Nigeria will be free from national insecurity, food insecurity, inflation, unemployment and over-dependence on imports.
Boosting agricultural production would also help us to generate the much-needed additional foreign exchange.
Obi thanked the Management of Mary Agro Farms for doing a good job of helping to move Nigeria from consumption to production.”

He said the Mary Agro Farms also trains young individuals who are passionate about agriculture and gives them loans to help them establish themselves.
The former governor promised to work hand in glove with farms to build a Nigeria driven by maximum productivity in a way that is beneficial to every Nigerian.
According to the LP presidential candidate, it is only by promoting the prosperity of the people that we can build a powerful and great nation.
