13 political parties signed an agreement for peaceful conduct of Saturday’s Osun gubernatorial election.
Among those who were absent include the Labour Party, the Social Democratic Party, and the Peoples Redemption Party.
The success of the peace accord, according to INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, hinged on all parties involved.
In order to achieve a credible election on July 16, according to Mr. Yakubu, INEC has taken the necessary procedures. He also urged all candidates to work diligently to uphold the peace agreement.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the July 16 election, Johnson Kokumon, reiterated his commitment to ensuring adequate security during and after the election.
