Renowned Yoruba filmmaker and actor, Chief Adedeji Aderemi, widely recognised as Olofa Ina, has passed away at the age of 73.
He was a prominent figure in the modern Yoruba theatre scene.
The news of his death was announced by fellow actor, Saidi Balogun, via his Instagram handle (@SaidiBalogun), on Thursday night, January 4, 2023.

Born on May 15, 1950, into the family of Late Chief AbdulSalam Aderemi and Late Madam Aisha Aderemi in Ede, Osun State, during the reign of Late Oba John Adetoyese Laoye, the then Timi of Ede Land, he founded the Olofa Ina Theatre Group in 1972.
The group included performers like Erinfolamin, Dasofunjo, Gbolagade Akinpelu, and the late Oyetunji of Esinnla.
Olofa Ina also produced several television shows, including Odetedo, Lakaaye, Kogun Maja, and Ade Oba.
