There is plenty of news about Nigerians in different countries coming in these days. Sadly, some of them are not palatable.
Recently, Libya police embarked on a rescue mission and busted a Nigerian human trafficking gang.
The Libyan Criminal Investigations Agency made the revelation revealed that it busted a human trafficking gang from Nigeria and rescued five Nigerian girls forced into prostitution in Tripoli.
This was made known by the Libyan Observer on its Twitter page on Sunday.
Sharing a photo, the Libyan Observer said: “The Libyan Criminal Investigation Agency has busted a human smuggling gang from Nigeria.
During the rescue mission, the agency freed five Nigerian girls.
According to the agency, they girls had been abducted by gang members from their villages in Nigeria.
Afterwards, they were smuggled into the Libyan capital of Tripoli.
They were sold and forced into “sex”.
Also, it was gathered that the agency, at the weekend, raided the house in Libya where the victims were locked up and arrested some suspects after a 17-year-old girl escaped.

Meanwhile, another report published by a Libyan news agency on Sunday said the rescued girls had been handed over to the Consul General of the Nigerian Embassy.
Also, efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the criminal gang.
