Investors traded nothing less than 436,896,796 shares worth ₦‎17.099 billion in about 11,344 deals.

The major shares traded in the stock market were GTCO, Transcorp, Access Corporation, UBA, and NASCON.

These transactions helped the Stock market of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) close positively on Monday, 11th March 2024.

The All Share Index appreciated by 0.70% to close at 102,044.84 basis points from the previous close of 101,330.85 basis points.

This brings the year-to-date to 36.22%,  the month-to-date to 2.05%, and the week-to-date to 0.70% respectively.

Investors gained ₦404 billion due to massive trade in stocks at the market, which propelled the market capitalisation to rise to ₦57.697 trillion.

An aggregate of 436,896,796 units of shares was traded in 11,344 deals valued at ₦17,099,123,020.45.

Gainers And Losers

Honeywell Flour Mills and NEM Insurance Plc led other gainers with 10% growth each to close at ₦3.74 and ₦6.05 from their previous price of ₦3.40 and ₦5.50 respectively

Dangote Sugar Refinery, NASCON Allied Industries, and Wema Bank Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.97%, 9.92%,  and 9.79% respectively.

Prestige Assurance Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10% off its share price to close at N0.54, from its previous close of N0.60

Lasaco Assurance, UAC Nigeria, and RT Briscoe Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by  9.83%, 9.68%,  and 8.16% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank Holding (GTCO) Plc traded about 96.631 million units of its shares in 493 deals, valued at ₦4.024 billion
